We offer Amish Quilts handmade in Lancaster County, PA. Beautiful designs and meticulous hand-quilting are the qualities we look for, and bring to you. We offer traditional pieced and appliqué patterns, and newer designs from the Amish quilters. Some are combined patterns of old and new. The fabric is aw lays 100% cotton. You'll find bed quilts, baby and crib quilts, wall hangings and throw quilts.

Is there is a quilt pattern you love, and can't find it on the Amish Loft, chances are very good we work with an Amish quilter that will make the quilt for you. Maybe you see a quilt on the site that you love, but the colors and size aren't exactly what you want. Or you may have a photo of a quilt, and like to have it duplicated. We work with dozens of Amish Quilters who create custom handmade Amish quilts. Handmade custom Amish bed quilts take from 31/2 to 4 months to be completed.
Our Amish Quilts are entirely hand-quilted, and 400 to 700 hours of work go into each quilt.

The earliest existing Amish quilt dates back to 1849, made by an Amish women living in Lancaster County, PA. The Amish community of Lancaster, PA where the creators of what we call the Amish quilt today. The tradition of quilt making has grown to where nearly every young Amish girl learns quilt making by their mothers in their early teens. The extensive and fine quilting done on Amish Lancaster County quilts is often considered the finest done in the eyes of Amish quilt makers. They are among some of the most skilled quilters in the world.

A handmade Amish quilt is a creation of its own each one being unique. Many people view a handmade Amish quilt as an investment as well. They will increase in value as any fine work of art does.
